Art Display Tips for Market Vending Video Tutorial

I've been working the vendor markets as an artist for 5 1/2 years now. I've done everything from small business cafes & open mics to multi-day festivals with over 2000 attendees - all by myself. There is still plenty of room left to grow and expand, but thus far I've been able to gain substantial experience and catch attention as someone who stands out from the crowd. Over the years, countless new vendors have reached out for advice or needed a helping hand as a neighbor at the market. I always show up to provide whatever resources I have to help them reach success. Art vending has never been a competition for me.

After years of sharing, I've finally created this video tutorial that follows my step by step art booth setup process, while detailing my favorite equipment and tips that make everything easier. I focus on each type of display I have, including table, print stand, clothing rack, gridwall, easels and the closet rack hack. Some ways I display art are standard, while others are thrifty and creative.

I focus on a "1-Person Setup" mindset, because it's not always a guarantee that we, as small business owners, will have help available all the time. I personally wanted to get comfortable with knowing the ins and outs of my booth setup and moving through all types of events with confidence. I found many young women in my community relying heavily on a partner or family to help and sometimes becoming limited when there was no help available. I seek to inspire empowerment and autonomy as I have overcome my own perceived limitations. My tips include ways to setup a canopy, lighting and displays without any additional help.

My diverse displays within my 10x10 art booth help me stay flexible with smaller events and limited space. I often use my gridwall and lighting for most 6ft table space events, but in times where my light bar is too bright or I would have to carry my gridwall too far for my liking, I may use my print stand and clothing rack. Different art display equipment allow me to highlight different products in my diverse portfolio.

I hope this video can help support your art vending journey and provide you with at least one new creative upgrade you can use in the future. Make sure to leave a comment about what you found most helpful, as well as Like the video and Subscribe to my channel: MooxieArt!
